Pakistan To Host SL, Afghanistan For White-Ball Fixtures
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Pakistan will be hosting Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series later this year. The three matches will be played between November 11 and November 15, all to be hosted at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The ODI series will be followed by a T20I tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The tri-series will commence from November 17 onwards in Rawalpindi and will conclude on November 29 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Temba Bavuma’s SA Fined After Record Defeat To England
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed a five percent penalty on the South African team for maintaining a slow over-rate against England in the third ODI match at Southampton. Proteas captain Temba Bavuma accepted the sanctions after the ICC found the visitors an over short of their target. South Africa also suffered a crushing 342-run defeat against England in the game, to record the worst defeat in the history of ODI cricket. Bavuma’s troops, however, clinched the three-match series 2-1.
Gavaskar, Shastri, Sehwag Join Asia Cup 2025 Commentary Panel
Former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri have joined the commentary panel of the upcoming 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE. Among Indian stars, the two personalities joined the likes of fellow ex-players like Sanjay Manjrekar, Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan, Ajay Jadeja, Abhishek Nayar, Vivek Razdan, Saba Karim as well as legendary opening batter Virender Sehwag.
The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to commence from September 9 onwards with a match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi.
Paul Stirling To Lead, Canada Batter In Ireland For ENG T20Is
Cricket Ireland has named Ireland’s 14-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against England. The board called up uncapped cricketer and former Canada Under-19 player Ben Calitz into the team for his maiden international stint. Senior man Paul Stirling will continue to lead the Irish, and he will be accompanied by fellow star performers like Ross Adair, Curtis Campher, Harry Tector and others. The three-match T20I series between Ireland and the visiting Englishmen will be played between September 17 and September 21 at the Village in Malahide, Dublin.
Mohammad Rizwan Clubs 85 In CPL 2025 After Asia Cup Snub
Senior Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan compiled 85 runs from just 62 balls for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in match number 25 of the CPL 2025 season. Making amends after getting dropped from Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2025 squad, Rizwan belted eight boundaries and three huge sixes in an innings where the next biggest contributor was Navin Bidaisee’s 22* as the Patriots carted 149-6 in 20 overs.
Later, Naseem Shah and Waqar Salamkheil picked up two wickets each as Patriots restricted Guyana Amazon Warriors to 144-8 to escape with a thrilling five-run win.
