Ahead of the BGT opener match between Australia and India at the W.A.C.A In Perth, the Indian team held an intra-squad match simulation practice. The players were sweating hard in the nets while the Indian management made sure that strict arrangements were made to respect their privacy.
The players struggled to adjust to the surface at the W.A.C.A and several got injured after taking a nasty blow to their bodies. Sarfaraz Khan, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul were the ones who faced discomfort in the nets.
Sarfaraz Khan Struggles In The Net
Notably, Sarfaraz took a hit on his elbow on November 14, while, Virat and KL Rahul were hit on November 15. While Virat resumed his batting, KL took a heavier blow and was taken out of the game as a precautionary measure.
In the latest events, a report from The West Australian has shed light on the training session being held in Perth, and it said that Sarfaraz is struggling with short balls.
Khan was tested with short balls in the match, and he struggled facing it. The report mentioned that Sarfaraz looked like who had not played outside the sub-continent. Further, it said that Sarfaraz tried to hit one of his favourite cut shots, but chopped it onto his own stumps, resulting in frustration.
Virat Kohli Struggles Against Mukesh Kumar
Not just Sarfaraz, but Virat too struggled at the WACA stadium, as he fell prey to Mukesh Kumar in the nets for just 15 runs after playing a couple of beautiful cover drives.
Notably, Virat too got hit on his body, but returned soon to bat and was cleared off any serious injury ahead of the crucial first Test on November 22.
