Virat Kohli's horrible batting form in red-ball cricket continues as he gets out cheaply in the Intra-Squad simulation match at the WACA Stadium in Perth on Friday. To prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Series, Indian contingents are playing a simulation match where the conditions will be the same as the first Test in Perth.

The Optus Stadium where the first Test will take place will have extra bounce and seam movement, and hence, Team India are preparing for the challenge by playing on similar conditions at the WACA.

Kohli's horrible form continues

While Yashasvi Jaiswal looked solid, he played a rash shot and was dismissed for 15 runs. Talking about Kohli, he too, looked compact and played some delightful cover-drives. The former Test captain looked at home in alien conditions, but his eagerness to chase deliveries outside the off stump led to his demise.

Mukesh Kumar bowled a length ball outside the off and Kohli nicked it as the player at second slip took a sharp catch. India's number 4 had a solid outing, but once again fell pray to his old issues with the deliveries which gets pitched outside the off.

Kohli under pressure to deliver

Kohli had a disastrous home summer against Bangladesh and New Zealand. While he looked compact against the Tigers, the legendary batter had an average outing against the Kiwis, managing just a solitary fifty-plus score.

Plus, he failed to cross the 100-run mark in the entire series as experts have called for him to get retire after the Border-Gavaskar series.

However, Kohli has tremendous stats against Australia, Down Under and the conditions their should favour his style of batting as he looks to get back amongst run-getters.
