ICC Bows Down To PCB; Asks BCCI To Explain India's Champions Trophy Withdrawal

In a significant development, there are reports that the ICC has bowed down to PCB's request and have sought a written explanation from BCCI over India's stance on not travelling to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025.

Notably, on November 10, there were reports that the BCCI has officially conveyed to the PCB that they would not send the Men in Blue to Pakistan, citing security reasons.

ICC Tells BCCI To Give Written Explanation

The PCB were unhappy over the verbal communication and wrote to ICC urging them to seek an explanation from the BCCI. In the latest events, according to a report from Geo News, ICC wants BCCI to give a written explanation, and in case they fail to provide substantiated evidence, they would have to travel to Pakistan.

The report also added that the ICC would also look to replace India with another team for the Champions Trophy 2025.

"In case of receiving a written reply, Pakistan may seek substantial evidence supporting the reasons," sources told Geo News.

Pakistan To Conduct Champions Trophy Tour In POK

In the latest events, Pakistan decided to trigger Indian fans as they recently announced a Champions Trophy tour that will kickstart from Islamabad on November 16. Further, they also mentioned a few places that lie in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK).

"Get ready, Pakistan! The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy tour kicks off in Islamabad on 16 November, also visiting scenic travel destinations like Skardu, Murree, Hunza and Muzaffarabad. Catch a glimpse of the trophy, which Sarfaraz Ahmed lifted in 2017 at The Oval, from 16-24 November," tweeted PCB.

The Champions Trophy 2025 will tentatively kick off from February 19.
