Meanwhile, the uncapped players are Lahiru Udara, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Sonal Dinusha, Pawan Ratnayake, Tharindu Ratnayake and Isitha Wijesundara. Sussex Signs Danny Briggs In Rare Player-Coach Role For T20 Blast
The Sussex cricket club has signed England spinner Danny Briggs for a three-year contract. The cricketer will be rejoining the club following the conclusion of the 2025 T20 Blast season. Briggs previously played for Sussex between the years 2016 and 2020. With 256 wickets from just 203 innings at an impressive average of 20.58, Briggs remains one of the most successful spinners in T20 Blast history.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz Likely To Miss First SL Test Due To Fever
Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will likely miss his team’s series-opening first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle on June 17 due to fever. Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons confirmed the same a couple of days prior to the launch of the series. Simmons confirmed that Miraz’s illness is concerning, and the team management will likely be forced to look for his replacement in the playing XI.
It is worth noting that the 27-year-old was recently appointed as Bangladesh’s ODI captain, replacing Najmul Hossain Shanto for the high-profile role.
Abbott To Replace Doggett In AUS Squad For WI Tour
Australian fast bowler Brendan Doggett has been ruled out of the upcoming West Indies tour owing to a hip injury. Cricket Australia has now named fellow paceman and bowling all-rounder Sean Abbott as his replacement for the three-match Test series in the Caribbean. Abbott, yet to play a single Test in his career, has featured in 88 first-class matches, picking up 143 wickets in the process and scoring nearly 3,000 runs with the bat at an average of 24.62.

Late last month, Agarkar explained his decision behind excluding Sarfaraz, stating that Karun Nair’s domestic and county experience made the Delhi Capitals star more eligible for the upcoming Test challenge on tough English conditions.
