The SA20 Season 3 player auction took place in Cape Town on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, with over 180 cricketers going under the hammer. Among the registered players, 115 are South Africans, while the remaining 73 hail from various overseas nations.

All six teams, Paarl Royals, Durban Super Giants, MI Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals, and Joburg Super Kings, had a maximum of 19 slots to fill, including 1 wildcard and 1 rookie player.

That being said, despite the large pool of players, only 13 slots remained to be filled by the six teams, as most squads had already been assembled through pre-signings and player retention.

Reeza Hendricks triggered a bidding war between MI Cape Town and Pretoria Capitals to fetch the auction’s costliest contract of R4.30m from MI Cape Town. Pacer Richard Gleeson went to Sunrisers Eastern Cape for R2.3m.

The SA20 2025 season will begin from January 9 with the finale scheduled for February 8. Meanwhile, as the auction concludes, let’s look at the full squads of all the 6 teams.
