Mumbai Indians Cape Town has bolstered its roster for the upcoming SA20 Season 3 with the return of Afghanistan's star leg-spinner, Rashid Khan.

Rashid is set to rejoin the squad, adding his formidable skills to the team. His previous stint with MI Cape Town in Season 1 showcased his exceptional bowling prowess, with nine wickets at an economy rate of just 6.92 across ten matches.

In addition to Rashid Khan, MI Cape Town has made notable signings for the new season. England's Test captain Ben Stokes will join the squad, alongside New Zealand's renowned swing-bowler Trent Boult.

Azmatullah Omarzai Joins Rashid Khan

Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who also recently played a pivotal role in Afghanistan's historic semi-final run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, will be part of the lineup.

His recent performances have solidified his reputation as an all-rounder. In the Global T20 Canada, he was the leading wicket-taker for the Montreal Tigers, claiming 11 wickets at an impressive average of 8.81.

However, he has faced a setback with a hamstring injury that has ruled him out of the ongoing edition of The Hundred 2024.

The MI Cape Town 2025 squad remains robust, retaining key players such as Dewald Brevis, Kagiso Rabada, and Chris Benjamin, while integrating exciting new talent for a competitive season ahead.
