RR Star Riyan Parag Wins Big At BCCI Awards For Domestic Performance

Assam all-rounder Riyan Parag bagged the Lala Amarnath Award for his performance in India’s domestic limited-overs tournaments. The cricketer has been in splendid touch with both bat and ball off late, and is set to reprise his role for the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.


Riyan Parag bags top honour at BCCI Awards 2024

Parag won the prestigious Lala Amarnath Award for best all-rounder in limited-overs tournaments at the BCCI Awards 2024 on January 23.

The 22-year-old received the honour just a day after his Assam’s Elite Group B Ranji Trophy 2024 match against Andhra in Dibrugarh.

Late last year, Riyan Parag led Assam to the semifinals of the 2023 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The cricketer also packed a series of impactful performances throughout the tournament as an all-rounder.

The youngster tallied 510 runs from just ten innings at a splendid average of 85. He registered seven dazzling half-centuries in the process and maintained an astonishing strike rate of over 180. While Parag finished at the top of the run-scoring ladder, he also harvested 11 wickets on the side through his crafty leg-breaks.

Quite recently, he listed a 56-ball century for Assam against Chhattisgarh in their opening 2024 Ranji Trophy match.

In November 2023, Riyan Parag was retained by the Rajasthan Royals franchise for the IPL 2024 season. He was retained alongside fellow youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, as well as alongside franchise veterans like Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Ravichandran Ashwin.
