AFG player doing mankading (X.com)
Mankading has always been a controversial topic in cricket and the debate around it tends to intensify whenever it happens at any level of cricket. The latest mankading incident has happened in the U-19 World Cup match between Afghanistan and New Zealand.
The Afghanistan spinner surprisingly mankaded New Zealand batter when the Kiwis needed just 2 runs to win and had two wickets in hand. That run out brought the equation where Afghanistan needed just one wicket to seal an unbelievable win as they were defending a target of just 92.

It was the 29th over and the left-arm spinner Naseer Khan Maroofkhil, who is also the captain of Afghanistan in the U-19 World Cup, loaded in to bowl. However, it seems that he was aware that the non-striker Ewald Schreuder is backing up way too much and stopped in between to whip the bails off.
The Kiwi batter was out of his crease and it created shockwaves around New Zealand camp who would have fancied to chase down a target of 92 without much fuss.
New Zealand though still managed to clinch the game with 9 wickets down leaving Afghanistan players heartbroken.
