Indian captain Rohit Sharma turned 38 on Wednesday, April 30. A day prior to Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals franchise in Jaipur, the cricketer was spotted goofing around with his national teammate Sanju Samson.
A video of their reunion was even captured by Rajasthan Royals and shared on their social media platforms. Sharma also caught up with Royals coach and former Indian teammate Rahul Dravid.

Sanju Samson, currently recovering from his injury, walked up to Rohit Sharma at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium during a training session on April 30. Samson asked his Indian teammate and IPL rival if it was his birthday, to which the latter replied that the birthday was actually yesterday. Both Indian cricketers followed the conversation with warm hugs, with several other Rajasthan Royals players also joining in to wish the national skipper.
Former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid also interacted with Rohit Sharma during the training session. The two were seen exchanging smiles, as the internet lit up over the wholesome reunion of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning combo.
The Rohit Sharma-starrer Mumbai Indians team has won five matches in succession to jump to the playoffs reckoning. The legendary opening batter himself has accrued 240 runs in nine innings of the season with a strike rate of 156.86, whacking two half-centuries in the process.
Mumbai Indians, currently ranked third on the IPL 2025 points table, will face eighth-placed Rajasthan Royals in match number 50 of the season. The match will be hosted by the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and the action will commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
