Chennai Super Kings (CSK) slipped to a four-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings in match number 49 of the IPL 2025 season at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The outcome also prompted the MS Dhoni-led franchise to become the first team to get eliminated from the season.

CSK has now suffered big defeats in three successive games, and is yet to record a single win at home this IPL 2025 season ever since winning their tournament opener against Mumbai Indians.

With campaign buried in the ground, MS Dhoni and co. will be aiming to disrupt other team’s momentum in a bid to end their dismal season on a high note. They will now face age-old rivals RCB in match number 52 of the competition on Saturday, May 3 in Bengaluru.
