Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh picked Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Jasprit Bumrah as his first three choices for a playing XI. While Gayle and De Villiers are absolute legends of the game, Bumrah is India's biggest bowling asset across formats.

Yuvraj Singh, who played an instrumental role in India's two greatest white-ball triumphs, the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup, chose only one player from his country among his top three picks for a cricketing XI.

During a conversation with Sportskeeda, Yuvraj Singh was asked to name three players who would make an XI. The talismanic batting all-rounder preferred Bumrah over the likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, surprising fans and experts alike.

“If you were to pick the first three players, who would make an XI?," the interviewer asked. Yuvraj replied, “Chris Gayle, Ab de Villiers, Jasprit Bumrah.”

Notably, Yuvraj shared the dressing room with Bumrah not only while playing for Team India but also during his brief IPL stint with Mumbai Indians. The legendary cricketer has closely followed Bumrah's career and is well aware of his transformation from a rookie to a maestro. His preference is valid and logical, given Bumrah's incredible ability to turn things around with his lethal spells.

Kohli, Rohit And Bumrah To Play Key Roles In Bangladesh Series

Regarding Rohit, Kohli and Bumrah, the trio has started preparations for India's upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. While Rohit and Kohli would be keen to make an impact with the bat, Bumrah is expected to spearhead India's bowling attack. However, considering the fast bowler's injury setbacks in the past, India might rest him for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
