In a significant setback for Mumbai's Irani Cup campaign, young batting prodigy Musheer Khan has been ruled out of the tournament after suffering a fracture in a road accident. According to the reports, the teenager was travelling with his father from Kanpur to Lucknow when the accident occurred. 

Musheer Khan Involved In Road Accident Suffers Fracture

According to reports, Musheer was not travelling with the Mumbai team to Lucknow but was on his way from his hometown in Azamgarh with his father, Naushan Khan. The accident happened en route to Lucknow, where he was set to join the team ahead of the Irani Cup fixture.

A source close to the situation shared with The Times of India, “He didn’t travel with the Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He was probably traveling from his native place, Azamgarh, with his father, to Lucknow when the accident took place.”

Further details regarding the severity of Musheer’s injury are yet to be released, but it is confirmed that he will miss the entire Irani Cup. His absence is a significant setback for the Mumbai team, who were counting on his talent to strengthen their batting lineup against a formidable Rest of India side.

Musheer Khan's Significant Rise In Domestic Cricket

Musheer Khan has been a standout performer in domestic cricket since last season. The left-handed batter made headlines during his debut in the Duleep Trophy, where he smashed a stunning 181-run knock against India A. 

His consistent performances have earned him attention from selectors, and he was on the verge of being picked for India A's upcoming shadow tour with the senior Indian team to Australia later this year.
