The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been one of the most popular and successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, and the side recently captured its maiden title in the 2025 season. They waited for 18 years for the elusive trophy, and the RCB side finally got its hands on it.
After the IPL 2025 season ended, the trade window opened for the next season, and it allows teams to make pre-season transfers - either a cash deal, or by swapping players. Over the years, RCB has also traded several players, and while some have been successful, others have failed to live up to the hype.
In this list, we will mention all the seven trade deals which RCB has done in the IPL history.

The most prominent deal done by RCB was for the Australian superstar, Cameron Green. The player was an integral part of the Mumbai Indians squad, and RCB needed a solid all-rounder to fill in the middle-order loopholes. Hence, after a solid season for MI, the Bengaluru-based team came calling, and splashed a whopping 17.5 crores to acquire his services.
The joy lasted for only one season as Green suffered a back injury, and RCB didn't retain him for the 2025 season, and released him.
Other prominent trade deals for RCB
There was one particular trade deal that worked wonders for the franchise - buying Harshal Patel during the 2020 season. It turned out to be an underrated deal as Harshal Patel became their most potent bowling weapon.
In the 2021 season, Harshal Patel etched his name in the history books, and became the bowler with the joint-most wickets in a single IPL season (32). Due to his outstanding performance, RCB reached the playoff stage. However, a couple of seasons later, the bowler was released by the franchise.
