Just when Pakistan was trying to resurrect their sinking ship, the rain god decided to show up and ruin the fun as heavy rain lashed onto the field, and the two teams had to walk back to the dugout. The entire square was covered as relentless rain paused an exciting contest between West Indies, and the Pakistan side.
As per Accuweather, there was a heavy chance of rain, and the predictions came true as the entire afternoon, and the evening could be spoiled due to persistent rain.
Rain chances during PAK Vs WI 2nd ODI
As per the weather forecast, there was a 28% chance of rain, and the intensity could increase as the day progresses. Throughout the next few hours, rain interruptions are predicted, but towards late afternoon, the weather will improve, and a game could be possible.
Pakistan lose two key batters early
Pakistan batters showed their class in the first ODI vs the West Indies, but under tricky conditions, Saim Ayub, and Babar Azam faltered, and were dismissed cheaply to leave the visitors in a state of bother.
Saim Ayub went after a needless delivery, and the outside-edge was taken safely by the fielder at short third man. Meanwhile, Babar, who looked solid in the first ODI, failed to open his account and was dismissed for a 3-ball duck by Jayden Seales. Captain Mohammad Rizwan joined hands with Abdullah Shafique before rain interrupted West Indies' momentum.
How rain could spoil Pakistan's party
Relentless rain would allow for tricky conditions for the batters. Overcast weather will help the pace bowlers to generate enough seam, and swing to trouble the batters, and Pakistan players need to be careful if, and when the match commences.
