Quetta Gladiators spinner Usman Tariq has been cleared to bowl again in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine after being flagged for suspect bowling action.

The development comes as a major boost for Quetta Gladiators, who are seated at the fourth spot in the six-team league points table, as Tariq had displayed ominous signs with his variations with spin bowling. His clearance means that Tariq will be available for selection in Quetta Gladiators' final league match against the Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

After being flagged for suspect bowling action, Tariq underwent the entire process of reviewing his bowling arm at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Upon close assessment by the officials, the spinner was given clearance to resume bowling again.

However, Tariq remains in a spot of bother, as any subsequent report of suspect bowling action will see him suspended from bowling until he undergoes testing to successfully rectify the issue.

For those unversed, Tariq's action was initially reported by on-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Asif Yaqoob in the match against the Karachi Kings on March 6.

Tariq has, so far, scalped two wickets in three matches of the ongoing PSL 9.
