Karachi Kings will look to stay alive in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 playoffs contention when they take on Quetta Gladiators on Wednesday.

The Kings are currently in a spot of bother as they have accumulated only four points from six matches to be placed at the fifth spot in the six-team league.

In their bid to stay alive in the race to playoffs, the Karachi Kings line-up will be boosted with the presence of their swashbuckling West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard.

The all-rounder missed out on their last match against Multan Sultans as he took a leave to attend the pre-wedding ceremony of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani's son.

Pollard's return will boost the Karachi Kings XI as he is the leading run-scorer for the side. He has accumulated 196 runs in five appearances at an average of 98 and a spectacular strike rate of 161.98.

It is apparent that in these testing times, the Kings will need the services of their powerful striker who will replace England's Leus du Plooy in the playing XI.

Alongside Pollard, the onus of run-scoring will be on former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik. The top-order batter has been the second highest run scorer for the Kings in the ongoing season. He has accumulated 177 runs in six matches at an average of 29.5 and a strike rate of 117.22.

In the bowling department, medium pacers Hasan Ali and Mir Hamza will continue to be the crucial cog in the Karachi Kings batting line-up.

Hasan has been the leading wicket-taker for the Kings, scalping nine wickets in six matches, at an average of 23.56 while his compatriot has scalped five wickets in six matches at an average of 26.17.
