Just days after India clinched the series 4-1 against England, despite a setback in the series opener in Hyderabad, discussions around the visitors’ team strategies have taken center stage.

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin openly criticized James Anderson's overconfident remarks and dissected the flawed Bazball approach, which England adopted under the guidance of their coach, Brendon McCullum.

Anderson's bold claim that England could chase down a target of 500 or 600 in just 60 to 70 overs during the second Test in Vizag stirred controversy. However, England's pursuit fell short, ending in a 106-run defeat and leveling the series at 1-1.

"After winning the first Test, James Anderson was confident of his team's success. He predicted that they would complete the match in 60 overs, regardless of the target being 500 or 600. It was an example of their positive mindset, but I feel they went too far," Ashwin shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel.

In summary, India's comeback to win the series 4-1 against England, despite losing the opener, has put the spotlight on the visiting team's tactics and mindset.

The series result, a significant milestone for India, was the first-ever Test series loss of England under captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum, raising questions about the sustainability and effectiveness of the Bazball philosophy in Test cricket.

Critics, including former players Michael Vaughan and Geoffrey Boycott, have questioned the approach following the team's series loss.
