The Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United franchises have become the latest Pakistan Super League (PSL) entrants to extend their association with their current owners for the next 10 years. Earlier, popular teams like Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi and others had already inked a decade deal ahead of the PSL 2026 season.

It is worth noting that the Quetta Gladiators, under the leadership of Saud Shakeel, reached the final of the PSL 2025 season earlier this year, only to lose out to Shaheen Afridi’s Lahore Qalandars on the big day. The Islamabad United finished second on the PSL 2025 points table, before losing the second eliminator to finish third in the season.

Gladiators and United join the bandwagon

The Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United franchises have confirmed that they will continue to remain with their current PSL owners for the next 10 seasons of the tournament. With their decision, the two franchises joined Peshawar Zalmi, defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings among the five teams who have renewed their partnership so far.

The Multan Sultans owners, however, have publicly decided not to renew their ownership of the PSL team.

Much like Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, the market value of Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United were also determined through a “comprehensive assessment” by Ersnt&Young, a credible and respected audit firm.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi thanked Mr. Nadeem Omar for playing a “vital role in building a loyal fan base” and for elevating the local and international stature of the Quetta Gladiators franchise. He also praised Mr. Ali Naqvi after Islamabad United decided to continue its PSL journey with the current owners.

Both Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United franchises will now be looking forward to shape their squads for the PSL 2026 season next year.
