The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Karachi Kings (KK) owners have decided to continue with their partnership in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for another decade, as the league is set to commence its 11th season in 2026.

This announcement has come just a day after two other team owners of Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi also extended their contracts with the board. According to the latest reports, the Kings, who were the most valued team at the inception of the league, have seen a growth in its value and are only second to Qalandars at 64 crore PKR.

Karachi Kings owners extend for another decade

Following this contract renewal, Karachi Kings will be on a pursuit of their second title, after winning the 2020 edition under Imad Wasim.

"Karachi Kings have been an integral part of the HBL PSL’s journey, bringing energy, ambition and excellence to the league season after season. We are delighted to continue working with Salman Iqbal and his management team over the next decade and hope that he continues to contribute beyond the call of duty," said the PSL CEO Salman Naseer.

PCB Chief extends gratitude towards Kings

The PCB and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chair was also among the authorities to thank Salman Iqbal for showing trust in the league's vision as they head into its second decade.

"It is a pleasure to announce that Karachi Kings will continue with their existing owners for another 10 years. Mr. Salman Iqbal and his team have played a pivotal role in elevating the stature of the HBL PSL and in building a franchise that commands a passionate following across the country and beyond. Their decision to renew reflects the enduring strength and potential of the league," the statement read.

In the 2025 season, the Kings reached the Eliminator with and their squad boasted some marquee players like captain David Warner, Shaan Masood, Hasan Ali and George Munsey, most of whom will once again be in action in 2026, before the new teams are added to the league.
