The Corbin Bosch saga is far from over, as the South African star seamer has broken silence on his decision to ditch PSL for IPL 2025. For the unversed, Bosch, who had gone unsold in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, registered for the PSL draft and was picked by Peshawar Zalmi to feature in the 10th edition of Pakistan's premier domestic league.

PCB Threatens Bosch With Legal Notice

However, MI dealt a heavy blow after Lizaad Williams was ruled out of IPL 2025 because of injury. Thus, the five-time winners replaced him with Bosch. It led to the Proteas star ditching his PSL contract for IPL. It didn't go well with the PCB, as the Mohsin Naqvi-led board threatened Corbin with a legal notice.

In the latest events, Bosch has cleared the air and remarked that he has no intention of disrupting the PSL but mentioned that IPL would offer him a better future which is why he left Zalmi for the Indians.

"Sources revealed that on Monday, Bosch provided his explanation to Pakistani officials, stating that his decision was not meant to disrespect PSL. He said he had to prioritize his future, as Mumbai Indians are not only a strong IPL team but also have franchises in multiple other leagues, which could benefit his career significantly, " read a report from Cricket Pakistan.

Bosch Fears IPL-Like Ban In PSL

It is worth noting that Bosch also features for MI Cape Town, MI's sister franchise in SA20, where he played a key part in helping Cape Town win SA20 2025 title.

At present, the PCB is mulling over the punishment they would serve Bosch for his actions. There is chatter about imposing an IPL-like ban on players for leaving PSL before the start of the tournament. However, there are members who have opposed the idea of a ban as they feel that it would create a negative impact and overseas stars might resist from registering in the IPL.
