CSK’s Sri Lanka-based fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana will likely miss another IPL 2025 match this week. In Pakistan, the Lahore Region Blues team won the 2025 National T20 Cup.

LSG Stun High-Flying SRH In Hyderabad

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) stunned SRH at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in match seven of the IPL 2025 season. Batting first, the SRH charted 190-9 from 20 overs, with opening Travis Head top-scoring through his 47-run act from 28 balls. For the LSG, new ball speedster Shardul Thakur picked up four wickets at an expense of just 34 runs from four overs.

In response, Nicholas Pooran muscled 70 runs off just 26 balls while opening batter Mitchell Marsh made 52 off 31. David Miller and Abdul Samad remained unbeaten in the chase as LSG secured an easy five-wicket win with nearly four overs to spare.

Pooran Wins Orange Cap, Shardul Secures Purple Cap

Nicholas Pooran won the ‘Orange Cap’ of the IPL 2025 season after smashing his second successive fifty-plus score in the tournament. The cricketer clattered six huge sixes against SRH bowlers in his match-winning knock of 70 runs from just 26 balls. His LSG teammate, Shardul Thakur, on the other hand, won the bragging rights for the ‘Purple Cap’ for the meantime after picking up figures of 4-34 against the SRH.

The speedster dismissed in-form top-order batters Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan before adding two more to his tally to reach six wickets from two innings.

Lahore Region Blues Win National T20 Cup 2025

Lahore Region Blues engulfed Peshawar Region to win the Pakistan National T20 Cup 2025 at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. For the Lahore Blues, Salman Mirza picked up sensational figures of 4-21 from four overs while his new ball partner Mohammad Irfan chipped in with 2-20 to restrict Peshawar Region to just 110-9 upfront.

Chasing 111, opening batter Umar Siddiq smeared 64 unbeaten runs off just 46 balls with six boundaries and two sixes. Number three batter Junaid Ali also made 30* as Lahore Region Blues secured an easy nine-wicket win in just 16 overs.

Matheesha Pathirana To Miss RCB Match For CSK: Report

CSK fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana will reportedly miss his team’s upcoming IPL 2025 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 28. As per a report from Indian Express assistant editor Venkata Krishna, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has stated that the speedster is still recovering from injury.

Pathirana also missed CSK’s opening match of the season against Mumbai Indians. In his absence, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team defeated Mumbai Indians by four wickets in a thrilling last-over affair.

Outspoken former cricketer Yograj Singh has claimed that he can transform the fitness and skills of ageing Indian warhorses Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. A prominent cricket coach and the father of India’s World Cup-winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, Yograj stated that he will make both Rohit and Kohli play domestic cricket through Ranji Trophy.

Moreover, the former cricketer also added that he will make Rohit Sharma run 20 kms everyday to improve his fitness.
