Nicholas Pooran ran roughshod over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in match seven of the IPL 2025 season. Batting at number three in a chase of 191, the blistering left-hander clubbed an 18-ball half-century and tonked six maximums in all to surge the LSG to 120 in less than nine overs.

Pooran launched his blitzkrieg with a couple of huge sixes against Simarjeet Singh and Abhishek Sharma after arriving to the crease in just the second over of the run-chase.

Through the course of his run-chase masterclass, Nicholas Pooran also claimed the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ of the IPL 2025 season. In his previous match of the season against the Delhi Capitals, the left-hander bludgeoned 75 runs off just 30 deliveries with six boundaries and seven sixes.

With 145 runs in two innings at an astonishing average of 72.50 and a strike rate of 258.92, Pooran is currently leading second-placed Travis Head by 31 runs in the ‘Orange Cap’ race.
