LSG beat SRH by 5 wickets in the 7th game of IPL 2025. Though SRH had a good start batting first, Shardul Thakur’s four-wicket-haul put a stoppage on their scoring rate as they finished at 190/9.

Moreover, the Nicholas Pooran storm arrived in the second inning as the power hitter slammed 70 off just 26 balls to comfortably guide LSG to a 5-wicket win.

Here’s How LSG vs SRH Panned Out In Hyderabad:

Shardul Thakur’s Magic Spell Rattles SRH’s Top Order

SRH batted first and was poised to get a flyer start with destructive openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head at their helm. However, LSG’s Shardul Thakur turned up with a plan to spoil the party.

In the third over, he dismissed Abhishek and Ishan Kishan in two successive deliveries. Kishan, the centurion from the last game was sent back on a golden duck. Regardless, Head did some recovery in the powerplay and put 62 runs on the board.

SRH Gets Below-Par Total After Middle Order Collapses

After Head got dismissed on 47 off 28 by Prince Yadav, SRH’s middle order couldn’t build a long partnership. Heinrich Klaasen, who was looking strong on 26 off 17 balls, got run out.

Nitish Reddy put up a fighting 32 off 28 balls whereas Aniket Verma added a quickfire 36 off just 13 balls to power SRH to 190-run total. At one stage, Hyderabad looked like they would cross the 200-run mark. However, Shardul Thakur’s four-wicket-haul put brakes and restricted them to 190.

Nicholas Pooran Storm Leaves SRH Clueless

LSG’s chase didn’t start on the right note as Aiden Markram lost his wicket to Mohammed Shami in the second over. However, Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran shouldered the responsibility of the chase. Pooran went ballistic to score a 19-ball fifty. He hit Adam Zampa for 19 runs in the 7th over before hitting Abhishek Sharma and Shami for 17 and 18 runs per over respectively.

He was dismissed by Pat Cummins through leg before wicket in the 9th over. However, Pooran had already done the damage as he departed after hitting 70 runs off just 26 balls, including 6 boundaries and as many sixes.

LSG Crush SRH With Dominant Win

Despite Pooran’s dismissal, Mitchell Marsh continued the onslaught, hitting 52 off 31 balls, which included 7 boundaries and 2 sixes. While captain Rishabh Pant disappointed the fans by getting dismissed on a loose shot, Abdul Samad had some fun at the crease. He hit 22 off just 8 balls to power LSG to a five-wicket victory in just 16.1 overs.
