The viral footage showed the Pakistani cricketer strolling with his wife through the streets when an exchange with a fan escalated, causing Haris Rauf to react angrily. 

He swiftly confronted the Pakistani fan, which led to a tense moment defused by the intervention of onlookers, averting a potential physical fight.

Mohsin Naqvi Takes Stands For Haris Rauf

After this incident, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi defended Rauf, stating that the fan involved in the argument should apologise to the cricketer; otherwise, legal action would be taken against him. 

After the video went viral, Haris Rauf took to Twitter to explain what had happened. He stated that he had been receiving hatred and criticism after the incident. 

He also described his part of the story and stated that he is open to receiving criticisms and feedback from fans; one thing that is not to be welcomed is disrespect.

According to Rauf's statement, the fan in the video disrespected his parents and family members, which triggered him, and they were involved in a massive fight. 

However, the Pakistan team has faced much criticism and setbacks after its early exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
