Pakistan vs Bangladesh Second Test Shifted From Karachi To Rawalpindi

The second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been shifted from Karachi to Rawalpindi. Led by Shan Masood, Pakistan are all set to host the Tigers in a two-match Test series later this month. The series opener is scheduled in Rawalpindi, while the decider was slated to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Why PAK vs BAN 2nd Test shifted from Karachi?

Meanwhile, days prior to the first Test, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to shift the second Test from Karachi to Rawalpindi.

The PCB has initiated the renovation work of the National Stadium for the Champions Trophy next year.

That's why the governing body had planned to conduct the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh without spectators

However, as the board desperately needs to complete the first phase renovation, it can't afford to pause the construction work during the Test match.

"Given that construction must continue uninterrupted to ensure the venue is operationally ready for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the PCB, after consulting all stakeholders and reviewing operational and logistical matters, has decided to hold both Tests in Rawalpindi," PCB stated through a press release.

Meanwhile, the PCB hasn't yet taken a call on the second Test between Pakistan and England at the same venue in October. As said in the press release, the PCB will keep the ECB updated about the development.
