India's explosive keeper-batter Ishan Kishan had a memorable outing in the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament, as he slammed two huge sixes to help Jharkhand secure a thrilling win over Madhya Pradesh.

Notably, the cricketer also slammed a fabulous hundred in the first innings, playing a crucial role in his side's impressive performance.

The incident occurred during the 55th over of Jharkhand's second innings when they were reeling at 163 for eight in pursuit of a modest target of 175 runs.

Barring Kumar Suraj and Shikhar Mohan, none of Jharkhand's batters contributed significantly to the scorecard. As a result, they were tottering at 135 for six, staring at a potential defeat at one stage.

However, Ishan Kishan held his nerves and kept the scoreboard ticking. When Jharkhand needed 12 more runs to win, the southpaw encountered Madhya Pradesh's most successful bowler, Akash Rajawat, who had already scalped four wickets.

As they say, attack is the best form of defence, and Ishan did exactly that to keep the left-arm spinner under the pump. After starting his over with a dot ball, Rajawat lured Ishan with a full-length delivery, which the batter dispatched into the mid-wicket stand for a six.

He followed it up with a dot before smacking a winning six to take his side home in this thrilling face-off.

Thus, Ishan played a captain's knock, scoring an unbeaten 41 under tremendous pressure. His finishing ability spoke volumes of his maturity as a batter, drawing parallels with the legendary MS Dhoni.

With his impressive outing in the Buchi Babu tournament, Ishan has certainly presented a strong case for his inclusion in India's squad for the Bangladesh Tests, which the BCCI selection committee will announce soon.
