In the latest development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the schedule for the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025, set to take place in Malaysia.

The marquee tournament is scheduled to take place from January 18 to February 2, 2025. Sixteen teams from around the globe will compete in a total of 41 matches over 15 days. With a series of 16 warm-up games scheduled from January 13 to 16, 2025.

The tournament, similar to its inaugural edition in 2023, will feature a diverse mix of teams and young players looking to make a mark on the international stage.

Group B - England (B1), Pakistan (B2), Ireland (B3) and USA (B4) playing at Dato' Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy (JCA Oval), Johor.

Group C - New Zealand (C1), South Africa (C2), Africa's Qualifier (C3) and Samoa (C4) and playing at Borneo Cricket Ground, Sarawak.

Group D - Australia (D1), Bangladesh (D2), Asia's Qualifier (D3) and Scotland (D4) and playing at UKM YSD Oval in Selangor.

India's triumph in the inaugural ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup in 2023 was a historic achievement for the team. Led by Shafali Verma, India delivered a commanding performance in the final against England. 

The Indian side showcased exceptional skill and composure and restricted England to a modest total of 68 runs. 

In response, India chased down the target with remarkable ease, with significant contributions from Gongadi Trisha 24 (29), and Soumya Tiwari 24* (37). The Women in Blue achieved victory by seven wickets with six overs to spare.
