In a significant development, Boria Majumdar from RevSportz has reported that all member boards have accepted hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025. It has also been reported that PCB has received no support for its stance and if they do not agree to the proposed hybrid model, they might lose the hosting rights of the tournament.

Their were earlier reports that that the meeting that was scheduled to be held on November 29 has been postponed to Saturday, November 30. However, the latest update seems to suggest that the decision has been made, and their could be a formal announcement on Saturday.

PCB In Danger Of Suffering Heavy Monetary Loss

The doubt though remains on PCB's stance, while it is clear that all other seven members scheduled to participate in the tournament are ready for the hybrid model. PCB has made recently upgraded its infrastructure for the mega event, and they are likely to suffer huge losses if they lose the hosting rights completely due to their resistance for hybrid model.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has maintained that they won't comprimise, but with India and other countries ready to continue with hybrid model, they would have to rethink now. If the hybrid model is accepted, India games might be played in UAE while one semifinal and final would also be out of Pakistan.

The tentative schedule that was released for Champions Trophy 2025 had India matches in Lahore and the tournament was to be played from February 19 to March 9. If Pakistan does accept the hybrid model, they might take a harsh stand of not travelling to India for any multi-nation tournaments in future. Pakistan last travelled to India for 2023 World Cup while Indian team last vist to their neighbouring country was way back in 2008 for the continental tournament - Asia Cup.
