The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that two of their women cricketers, Bismah Maroof and Ghulam Fatima, were involved in a car accident on Friday in Karachi. The incident occurred while the players were attending a PCB training camp. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by Maroof and Fatima were minor and not deemed serious.

Following the accident, both Bismah Maroof and Ghulam Fatima received immediate first aid care and are currently under the medical supervision of the Cricket Board. However, specific details regarding the severity of their injuries and the anticipated timeline for their recovery have not yet been disclosed by the PCB.

Bismah Maroof, who is former Pakistan women team captain and Ghulam Fatima were integral members of Pakistan's provisional squad slated to compete against the West Indies women's team in a series commencing on April 18th.

Both players were actively training with the squad in preparation for the upcoming matches. The series comprises eight matches, featuring five Twenty20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals, all scheduled to be held at Karachi's National Stadium.

Crucial players in Pakistan women team setup

Both players, Bismah Maroof and Ghulam Fatima, play pivotal roles in the Pakistan women team. They both participated in Pakistan's recent ODI series held in New Zealand back in December. During the third game of the series, Maroof scored 89 runs across three innings she played, notably achieving her career-best 68 runs in one innings.

Meanwhile, Fatima demonstrated her bowling excellence as she emerged as the top wicket-taker among both teams, securing six crucial wickets.

The PCB is currently assessing the situation of both players, and their availability for the upcoming series against the West Indies will be determined shortly.
