The highly-anticipated first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, set to begin on August 21, 2024, in Rawalpindi, is under significant threat due to adverse weather conditions.

The wet conditions have already affected preparations at the Rawalpindi venue, as the ground staff has been unable to start work on the pitch. The final decision on which pitch will be used for the match is still pending. Shan Masood will lead the team in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Heavy Rain To Interrupt Rawalpindi Test Between Pakistan And Bangladesh

According to the reports, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an alert that rain has been forecasted for all five days of the Test, potentially disrupting the match.

Both teams are hopeful for an improvement in the weather to allow the match to proceed without interruptions, as these two matches are crucial ICC World Test Championship fixtures.

In preparation for the series, the Bangladesh men's cricket team arrived in Lahore from Dhaka under strict security arrangements. After landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport, the team was escorted to a private hotel in Lahore.

Second PAK Vs BAN Test To Be Played Without Spectators

The construction is part of Pakistan's efforts to prepare for hosting the Champions Trophy, which is set to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
