Mohammed Shami, one of India's premium fast bowler has been out of the side due to a Achilles tendon injury.

Shami's heartbreaking revelation on his India comeback

The right-arm seamer started light training last month, and posted a video of himself bowling in the nets and preparing for the upcoming challenges. There are rumours that he could make his return in the Bangladesh Test series, but Shami has quashed those reports, stating that even he doesn't have a timeline for his return.

“It’s difficult to say when I will be back,” Shami was quoted as saying during his felicitation ceremony by East Bengal club here earlier this month.

He further added that before India comeback, he is eyeing to play for Bengal, to get the much-needed match practice.

“I am trying hard, but hopefully you will get to see me in Bengal colors before I don the India jersey again. I will come to play two-three matches for Bengal and will come fully prepared for it," Shami said.

Shami was India's star pacer in the World Cup 2023. He played 7 matches, but managed to pick up 24 wickets, at an average of just 10.70. Team India will hope that Shami can make his comeback soon, so as to prepare for the tough Border-Gavaskar series, Down Under.
