The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), under the new leadership of Shah Khawar, issued NOCs to as many as five contracted players, including young sensation Saim Ayub, to participate in the ongoing BPL 2024 season days after declining the initial request.

PCB found itself in huge turmoil once again as the leadership underwent another change. Zaka Ashraf tendered immediate resignation for unknown reasons just months after his appointment over Ramiz Raja.

Subsequently, Shah Khawar, a Supreme Court advocate, took over as the short-term chairman of the cricket board effective immediately. He will hold the post until the next election.

Having said that, Pakistan players have been at loggerheads with PCB over the non-approval of NOC to feature in franchise T20 leagues. Reportedly, PCB allows its contracted players to feature in a maximum of two leagues in a calendar year.

Thus, the likes of Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub were disallowed from featuring in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League due to rule violation. Notably, Haris was apparently promised the permit and thus landed in Bangladesh. However, PCB changed its stance at the last minute, thus leaving the batter embarrassed and stranded in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, in a fresh move, PCB has decided to grant NOC permits to as many as five players. Aamer Jamal, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, and Akif Javed's applications have been duly approved.

Subsequently, Durdanto Dhaka wasted no time signing Pakistan's young batting sensation, Saim Ayub. Ayub, who made waves in the domestic circuit, earned a Test call-up against Australia. But couldn't leave a profound impact.

Regardless, ahead of PSL's new season, Saim Ayub will look to switch to T20 mode and make a place for himself in the national team. His raw skills and aggressive intent have been highly ranked. With enough experience and backing, the batter could be another star in the making of Pakistan cricket.

Notably, the likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are some key Pakistan players currently participating in the BPL 2024 season.
