The International League T20 2024 (ILT20 2024) will be hosting its second doubleheader for the 2024 season on Saturday, and for the first game, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders will square off with Desert Vipers at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday from 4.00 PM IST onwards.

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have lost the plot this ILT20 season. Their batting order has delivered back-to-back horrifying shows in this past week, and as a result, the team finds itself at the bottom of the points table.

After getting bowled out for 95 runs against MI Emirates, the Knight Riders once again witnessed a top-order collapse against the Dubai Capitals on Thursday. Batting first, Abu Dhabi lost three wickets under seven overs in another top-order failure. 

Fortunately, Sam Hain and Laurie Evans built a 100+ runs partnership for the fourth wicket to lift the Knight Riders to a fighting total of 183 runs, which proved to be not good enough on Dubai's wicket.  Sam Billings and Sikander Raza's onslaught guided the Capitals to a convincing victory.

That being said, the Sunil Narine-led side needs to resolve issues with the bat to produce a turnaround this season. In a league dominated by batters, the Knight Riders' lackluster with the willow won't took them far into the tournament. The upcoming game against Desert Vipers would more or less set the record straight for Abu Dhabi's future this season.

Meanwhile, Desert Vipers are coming off a spectacular win against defending champions Gulf Giants. The induction of Shaheen Afridi has added weight to their bowling unit. 

Afridi picked three wickets against the Giants to restrict the latter to a below-par score of 160. While Alex Hales, Adam Hose, and Azam Khan contributed equally with the bat, all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga stole the show with his scintillating knock of 42 runs off just 19 deliveries.

However, the past record is against the Vipers, as they previously lost to Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the season opener. 

Regardless, the Desert Vipers' squad looks much stronger compared to the Knight Riders. Their bowling attack has been their biggest strength, and the Knight Riders' recent struggle with the bat will only add to the Viper's confidence before they step into the doubleheader.
