Gulf Giants have struggled to keep its title-defending ship afloat this year. After winning the season opener, the team suffered two back-to-back losses. The latest one endured against the resurgent Desert Vipers.

Meanwhile, the Giants' inconsistency in batting has been duly exposed this season. Shimron Hetmyer has failed to live up to his potential. Besides, the top four batters have been highly inconsistent. 

However, the team's biggest weakness has been its bowling unit. They lack a leader, as Chris Jordan's economy has been awful. Mujeeb Ur Rahman has also struggled with his rhythm, and the loss of Qais Ahmed is proving to be disastrous for the Gulf Giants. 

Regardless, the upcoming game against the Dubai Capitals is an opportunity for the Gulf Giants to fall back on winning ways. While the tournament remains in its early stage, a couple of more losses here would make things difficult for the Giants in the long run.

Meanwhile, Dubai Capitals are back to winning ways with a thumping victory over Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the previous fixture. Under the leadership of David Warner, the batting unit has thrived. 

Gurbaz has been giving the perfect start, and Australian rookie Jake Fraser-McGurk has been phenomenal under the pressure. Besides, Sikandar Raza's scintillating all-round performance has given the Capitals an added advantage over its opposition. 

Having said that, the bowling department could use some help. Chameera and Holder have been leaking ridiculous amounts of runs in the death overs. Also, barring Raza, the spin attack has failed to come through.
