India batter Virat Kohli seems to be enjoying a dream run. Ever since his poor phase ended, the man has been on a mission to reclaim his position at the top, smashing hundreds for fun. The legend was at it again. The celebrations have again become a norm for him.
While rain spoiled the party on Sunday, Kohli hosed down on Pakistan, belting their bowlers all over the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, in the ongoing Asia Cup clash.
The 34-year-old hammered his 47th ODI century, leading India to a score of 356/2, their joint-highest total versus Pakistan in ODIs.
Commenting on Kohli's blistering knock, Pakistan's Shoaib Akhtar tweeted that the former vindicated why he is considered the best.
"Once again today, Virat Kohli proved why he is considered the best. What an inning," Akhtar wrote on X.
Besides Kohli, KL Rahul also smashed a hundred in his comeback game.
Meanwhile, the run-chase is halted by rain. Pakistan have already lost their two in-form batters, Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam, who got cleaned out by Hardik Pandya. The Men in Green have scored 44 runs at the loss of two wickets in 11 overs.
