Reserve day has been activated for the Indo-Pak Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2023.

India will resume the remaining part of their innings tomorrow. They have scored 147 runs for the loss of two wickets in 24.1 overs.

The rain started pelting in Colombo during the 25th over of the India innings. While it did stop for almost two and a half hours, wet patches on the ground allowed no resumption.

To further spoil the party, rain again resumed as it was made official that the fixture would go into the reserve day that was put in place bearing in mind the weather in Colombo.

India to play ODI cricket on three consecutive days

This situation has left the Indian team in such a workload mess that they have been forced to play ODIs on three consecutive days.

Originally scheduled on Sunday, the India vs Pakistan match will now finish on Monday. Also, Rohit Sharma and Co. are slated to take on Sri Lanka on Tuesday at R. Premadasa Stadium.

This might be one of the firsts as no team in recent memory has played ODI cricket on three back-to-back days.

The Men In Blue would also likely play as many as four ODIs (subject to qualification in the Asia Cup 2023 final) in a space of seven days. After facing Sri Lanka on September 12, they will collide with Bangladesh on September 15 with the summit clash of the tournament scheduled on September 17.
