In a remarkable achievement, former skipper of Bangladesh Mushfiqur Rahim became the highest run-getter for Bangladesh in international cricket. This magnificent achievement of completing 15,205 runs across formats, has engraved his name in history. The 37-year-old right-handed batter has topped the previous record of Tamim Iqbal, who scored 15,192 runs in 387 matches.
Mushfiqur Rahim made his international debut in a Test match against England on May 26, 2005, at Lord's. Over the years, he has played 464 games for his country, making him a stalwart in Bangladesh cricket. Mushfiqur's consistency and adaptability and his abilityh to stabilize the innings is what makes him a valuable asset.
He achieved this historic feat against India in the first Test at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where Rahim hit 13 runs in the second innings, which helped him smash Iqbal's long-standing record.
