On Sunday, September 22, India beat Bangladesh by 280 runs at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium to lead the two-match series 1-0. It was a record-breaking game, as a plethora of new records were scripted while a few existing ones were shattered.

Firstly, the 280-run win by India over Bangladesh is their biggest win over The Tigers in terms of runs in their history. Further, R Ashwin, who won the player of the match for his century in the first innings and a six-wicket haul in the 2nd innings, shattered a plethora of records, including a 69-year-old record held by Vinoo Mankad's record of being the oldest Indian to get a Test five-wicket haul.

India Register More Wins Than Losses For First Time

That was not all, as another milestone was scripted in the recently concluded match that India waited for 92 years. It is worth noting that with the win, India now have more victories in Test cricket than losses for the first time in 92 years.

India have played 580 matches, of which the Rohit Sharma-led side have won 179, lost 178 games and 222 ended in a draw, while one tied. Prior to this clash, India, the win-loss ratio was levelled and the hosts were looking for a solitary win to script history.

Whereas Pakistan have 148 wins and a total of 144 losses in 458 matches.
