MS Dhoni seems to be on a leisurely spree off late as he enjoys his break until the next IPL season in 2025. Quite recently, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter was spotted hanging out with his friends in Ranchi, Jharkhand. One of Dhoni’s friends, Abhishek Kerketta, even shared a couple of pictures of their Sunday hangout with the former Indian captain on Instagram.

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni recently hung out with his friends in his hometown of Ranchi. As per pictures shared on social media, the legendary cricketer was even spotted sharing a nice-friendly meal with his friends this past Sunday, i.e. August 18.

MS Dhoni is currently on a near year-long break as he waits for the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in mid-2025. Earlier this year, the 43-year-old played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise in the IPL 2024 season, albeit as a player. Mere days prior to the launch of the tournament, the wicketkeeper-batter stepped down from his captaincy role in favor of rising star Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Interestingly, the IPL 2025 season will feature a mega auction later this year. Several reports indicate that all franchises will likely be allowed to retain a maximum of four players, with separate two RTM cards also on offer. The aforementioned limitation has sparked a significant debate, with many speculating that MS Dhoni will likely play the IPL 2025 season for CSK as an ‘uncapped player’.
