Jemimah Rodrigues, Shikha Pandey And Goswami Join Knight Riders For WCPL 2024

Indian players Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey have joined the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise for the upcoming Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2024 season in the West Indies. Arriving in Trinbago and Trinidad, the two Indian cricketers were also joined by former fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, who is set to serve the TKR franchise as team mentor.

The WCPL 2024 season is set to launch on August 21 with a match between defending champions Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors. The TRK franchise will commence their campaign by facing Barbados Royals the following day.

Jemimah and Shikha touch down in WI for WCPL 2024

On Monday, August 19, the Trinbago Knight Riders shared a short video on their social media accounts where active Indian players Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey can be seen touching down in Trinidad for the upcoming WCPL 2024 season. Former Indian fast bowler and all-time great Jhulan Goswami also joined them.

In the caption, the TKR franchise wrote:

“The Knight Riders from India have arrived!”

Middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues and star fast bowler Shikha Pandey are among the four overseas stars roped in by the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise for the WCPL 2024 season. Apart from the two Indian players, the other overseas recruits are former Australian captain Meg Lanning and Jess Jonassen.

Former Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, meanwhile, will serve the TKR franchise as team mentor. Deandra Dottin is set to lead the team, comprising several West Indies international stars like Chedean Nation and Kycia Knight.
