However, Mohammed Shami has regained match fitness and will play Bengal's fifth round Ranji Trophy encounter against Madhya Pradesh. In an official press release, Cricket Association on Bengal confirmed Shami's return, relieving India's millions of cricket enthusiasts.

Considering it will be his first competitive outing following India's disastrous defeat in the World Cup final, Shami would be keen to showcase his mettle with the red cherry for the umpteenth time.

If he proves his form and fitness, the pacer might get a recall into India's Test squad for the upcoming series against Australia in Down Under.
