On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unfurled the ICC Players of the Month for October 2024 and Pakistan's Noman Ali along with New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr are the newly crowned players.

Noman Ali Becomes ICC Player of the Month

Pakistani spinner, Noman Ali was a crucial puzzle piece in leading his team to a monumental Test series win over England on home soil. He took 20 wickets at an impressive average of 13.85. In both remaining Tests, Noman played a pivotal role in Pakistan's recovery after the country had been trailing 1-0 in the series.

He perhaps produced the most memorable performance in the second innings of both remaining Tests. In Multan, Noman took a career-best eight for 46 to help hand assure a 152-run victory, while in Rawalpindi, he claimed three for 88 and followed up with six for 42 to seal the series. His match-winning performances helped level the series 1-1.

Noman's brilliance across October was rewarded as he debuted in the top ten of the ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings for the first time. He became a deadly partner alongside the other spinner, Sajid Khan, who also impressed in the series with his spin mastery.

Amelia Kerr Joins The Party

Whereas, Amelia Kerr was a crucial player in the entire campaign of the Kiwi women that eventually led to their victory at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE last month. The New Zealand all-rounder bashed every team in the opening match of the T20 World Cup, scoring 160 runs and taking 19 wickets.

She had smashed a record number of 15 wickets in the women's T20 World Cup. Her brilliance was the decisive factor for New Zealand as she was handed over the Player of the Tournament award. She also chipped in with some crucial knocks in important matches.
