The drama continues to unfold in Pakistan cricket as another shocking news has jolted the cricketing fraternity. As per reports by Cricket Pakistan, the PCB is set to analyse their coaching policies and is moving away from foreign head coaches, just months before the Champions Trophy.

The PCB had a tense relation with the former white-ball coach, Gary Kirsten, as the South African didn't like the way PCB operated, and hence he resigned from his post last month. Now, as per reports, Jason Gillespie's contract as the Test team's head coach will be terminated early and the board will appoint a new coach for all the formats.

After Kirsten's removal. Gillespie was also given the charge of the white-ball side and under his guidance, Pakistan defeated Australia, 2-1 in the ODI series, and for the first time since 2002, they won an ODI series, Down Under.

Reports revealed that Kirsten had dissatisfaction with PCB's decision-making and it came out as a wake up call for the board who have now decided to move away from foreign head coaches.

Former Pakistan cricketers in PCB's radar for coaching roles

The board is prioritising on getting on local coaches and will revert back to players who are working at grassroots level. The decision to appoint a local head coach will be taken during the Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe, however, there is a consideration of having foreign coaches for specific roles (batting, bowling, and fielding).

As per reports, Jason Gillespie wanted to assert certain conditions in front of the PCB, but the board didn't like Gillespie's behaviour and have now decided to part ways with him. This will be a huge jolt to Pakistan ahead of the Champions Trophy, as the team will be without a white-ball coach.
