In an interesting turn of events, it has been understood that Mohammad Rizwan has refused to sign the central contract of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Mohammad Rizwan hits back at PCB

In an interesting turn of events, it has been understood that Mohammad Rizwan has refused to sign the central contract of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The cricketer was recently removed as ODI captain and has also not been selected in the T20I team, which seems to have not gone well with the star wicketkeeper batter.

In 2024, Mohammad Rizwan took over the leadership of both T20I and ODI teams. However, after Pakistan's lacklustre performances in T20Is, the cricketer was removed from captaincy. He also lost his place in T20I side too, despite a good record and even though other wicketkeepers are struggling, Rizwan could not get his place back in the shortest format.

Now, Rizwan has been removed from ODI captaincy as well, and it seems to have strengthened his resolve to protest against PCB. The development has been reported by Samaa TV, and Rizwan is the only player out of 30 who has not signed the contract yet.

No A category contract for Pakistan players

According to sources, Mohammad Rizwan has been included in the Category B alongside Babar Azam. Interestingly, no player has been given A contract by PCB this time around with the continued below-par performance of the Pakistan team across formats.

It has also been reported that PCB officials are not likely to consult Rizwan again for the contract. Thus, the wicketkeeper batter might have missed out on the central contract despite being a key member of the Test and ODI team.
