In a piece of major breaking news, Delhi Capitals’ star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who is also set to captain Australia in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA, will miss their next IPL 2024 match against Mumbai Indians, to be played on Saturday after at Wankhede Stadium.

The 32-year-old all-rounder picked up an injury ahead of the high-voltage clash, as confirmed by the franchise’s Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly. However, the former India captain did not disclose what type of injury Marsh picked, or how long he would take to recover.

Marsh played all four matches for the Capitals this season, although he did not significantly impact any of those outings. He conceded 52 runs without picking up any wickets, and scored 20 runs in their tournament opener against Punjab Kings, and followed it with scores of 23, 18, and a two-ball duck in the next outings. With the ball, he only had one wicket under his name.

In Marsh’s absence, Delhi Capitals may bring in Jake Fraser-McGurk, who came in as a replacement for Lungi Ngidi.
