Azmatullah Omarzai got his first wicket on Thursday when Sam Curran tried to pull him straight to Kane Williamson at mid-wicket during Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

After asking Punjab Kings to bat first, Gujarat Titans rode on Shubman Gill’s spectacular 48-ball 89 not out to post 199/4 on the board. Coming to defend, Omarzai took the new ball as usual but failed to get any success in his opening two overs. Then he struck when Gill introduced him again before the ninth over, and Curran was the one who became his victim.

Batting on 5 off 8 balls, Curran saw a short delivery coming to him and went for a pull. The ball went straight into the hands of Williamson, and in the process, Curran’s rare bad outing, both with bat and ball, came to an end.

Meanwhile, Shashank Sigh has scored an unbeaten 21 off 7 balls at the time of wrting, taking Punjab to 103/4 after 11.3 overs. The game is on, with Shashank in the middle, albeit they still have so much to do in order to pull a miraculous task.
