You don’t often see Rashid Khan getting smashed by prolific hard-hitters, let alone by any unknown individual when it comes to T20 cricket. However, Punjab Kings’ Shashank Singh pulled off that feat on Thursday (April 4) during the IPL 2024 clash between PBKS and Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Coming to chase 200, Punjab were in tatters after none of their prolific stars failed to make any significant impact. However, Shashank Singh did not give up, and the way he smashed Rashid out of the park showed his fearless attitude.

While completing the 14th over of Punjab’s innings, Rashid bowled a tossed-up delivery right in the arc of Shashank. The 32-year-old went for a slog sweep, and the timing was so perfect that it sailed over deep mid-wicket into the crowd for a monstrous six.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing this, Punjab are still in the game, needing 32 runs off 15 balls, with Shashank still in the middle, batting on 50* off 25 balls. Ashutosh Sharma, the impact sub, is batting from another end, on 16* off 10 balls.
