The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) formally added cricketing heroes Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq to its noble Hall of Fame on Saturday. The duo were inducted during the opening match of the tri-nation ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium after renovation.
After much speculation over the readiness of the stadium, Pakistan PM inaugurated the renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in presence of the Pakistan team, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and thousands of fans.
The team’s jersey for the 2025 Champions Trophy was also unveiled at the extravagant event. Besides, former legends Misbah-ul-Haq and Inzamam-ul-Haq were also honoured.

At the event, PCB also honoured former cricket legends Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq by inducting them into the PCB Hall of Fame.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi gifted both ex-captains commemorative caps and plaques and warmly welcomed excited spectators as they walked around the stadium, proudly showing off.
Part of the PCB Hall of Fame Class of 2024, both of the two cricketing stalwarts joined an esteemed list that included legendary players like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad, and Younis Khan. Saeed Anwar and Mushtaq Ahmed, also part of the 2024 class, are yet to be formally inducted.
Inzamam-ul-Haq is Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in ODIs with 11,739 runs and the third-highest in Test cricket with 8,830 runs. On the other hand, Misbah-ul-Haq is known for his composed leadership and for guiding Pakistan to the top of the ICC Test Team Rankings in 2016.
ICC objects to PCB’s stadium renovation
In a twist of events, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been put on the mat by the International Cricket Council (ICC), which is said to have raised objections over the two giant screens installed at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The screens, part of the renovation of the stadium ahead of the much-awaited 2025 Champions Trophy, are said to be obstructing the view for fans seated in specific areas. They have asked PCB to provide refund to the fans who had bought tickets in the affected areas.
