Naveen-Ul-Haq To Represent Hampshire In T20 Blast 2024

Hampshire have roped in Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq for the forthcoming T20 Blast 2024 season. The speedster has already bagged over 50 wickets for Leicestershire across the last three Blast campaigns.

Naveen, currently in South Africa for the ongoing SA20 2024 season for Durban's Super Giants, expressed his excitement about joining the Hampshire club for the second leg of the T20 Blast this year.


Naveen-ul-Haq to join Hampshire for Blast 2024

Naveen-ul-Haq will be available to play the final six group matches for Hampshire in the upcoming T20 2024 season.

The 24-year-old fast bowler will also be available to play in the knockout stage this September if Hampshire qualifies for the same.

Upon signing with Hampshire, Naveen said:

"I'm excited to be joining Hampshire for the second leg of the Vitality Blast this year. Hopefully, I can help the team to repeat the success of 2022 and win another T20 trophy."

Hampshire Director of Cricket Giles White praised Naveen-ul-Haq and described the latter as a "high-class performer" who is experienced and specializes in bowling the difficult overs of T20 matches.

A veteran of 157 T20 matches, Naveen has picked up 187 wickets across all international and domestic commitments. The cricketer collected 40 of them for Afghanistan in T20Is and six of them during the ongoing SA20 2024 season in South Africa for Durban's Super Giants.

The speedster is also slated to turn up for the Lucknow Super Giants franchise in the forthcoming IPL 2024 season. Back in November 2023, he was retained by the LSG team management alongside senior members KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis and others.
